1. Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using Isles.gg (the website at Isles.gg and the Discord bot), operated by Quartz, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use our services.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years of age to use Isles.gg, consistent with Discord's minimum age requirement. If you are between 13 and 18 years of age (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction), you may only use our services with the consent and supervision of a parent or legal guardian who agrees to be bound by these terms. By using Isles.gg, you represent that you meet these eligibility requirements.

3. Description of Service

Isles.gg is an island RPG operated through Discord and an accompanying website. Starting from an abandoned island and minimal resources, players explore islands, gather and craft resources, form and join clans, raise companions, build ships and towers, customize their character avatars, and compete with others. The service includes a Discord bot for gameplay, a player guide, optional in-game purchases processed by our payment provider, and related features.

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any aspect of the service at any time, with or without notice.

4. Account Security

You access Isles.gg through your Discord account via OAuth authentication. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your Discord account and for all activity that occurs under your account. Your Isles.gg account is tied to your Discord user ID and cannot be transferred to another user.

You may only operate one account. Creating or using multiple accounts to gain an unfair advantage, circumvent restrictions, or evade bans is prohibited.

5. Virtual Currency & Purchases

Isles.gg may offer optional purchases of virtual currency and virtual items that have no real-world monetary value. Purchases are processed by our payment provider, Stripe, using real money. By making a purchase, you understand and agree that:

• All purchases are final and non-refundable, except as described in our Refund Policy or where required by applicable law
• Virtual currency and items cannot be exchanged, redeemed, or converted into real-world currency or any form of monetary value
• We reserve the right to modify pricing, availability, conversion rates, and the value or function of virtual currency and items at any time
• Virtual currency and items have no value outside of the Isles.gg service and do not constitute property
• In the event the service is discontinued, all virtual currency and items will be forfeited without compensation

6. Subscriptions

Isles.gg may offer optional subscription plans that provide recurring perks and other benefits. Subscriptions are processed by our payment provider, Stripe. By subscribing, you understand and agree that:

• Subscriptions are billed on a recurring basis and will automatically renew until cancelled
• You may cancel your subscription at any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period, and you will retain access to subscription benefits until that date
• No partial refunds are provided for unused portions of a billing period
• We reserve the right to modify subscription pricing, tiers, or benefits at any time with reasonable notice
• Subscription perks are subject to change and have no real-world monetary value

7. Gifting

You may purchase virtual currency or items as a gift for another user by providing their Discord user ID at checkout. Gifts are delivered immediately and are non-refundable once processed. You are solely responsible for ensuring the recipient's Discord ID is correct. We are not liable for gifts sent to the wrong user due to an incorrect ID, and we are under no obligation to reverse such transactions.

8. Prohibited Conduct

Isles.gg does not maintain a separate rules page; the community and game rules below form part of these Terms. By using the service, you agree to play fairly, treat others with respect, and abide by Discord's Terms of Service and Community Guidelines. You agree that you will not:

• Cheat, exploit, or otherwise gain an unfair advantage in the game
• Abuse bugs, glitches, or unintended game mechanics for personal gain — you must report such issues promptly instead of exploiting them
• Use bots, scripts, macros, auto-clickers, or any other automated tools to interact with the bot or the service
• Engage in real-money trading — buying, selling, or trading virtual currency, items, or accounts for real-world money or value outside of our official offerings
• Sell, buy, share, rent, transfer, or otherwise give access to your account, or use anyone else's account
• Create or use alternate accounts to gain an advantage, circumvent restrictions, or evade bans or other enforcement actions
• Harass, threaten, bully, defame, or abuse other players or staff
• Post or share hateful, discriminatory, harassing, sexually explicit, or otherwise toxic content, or engage in hate speech
• Impersonate Isles.gg staff or moderators, other players, or any other person or entity
• Send spam, unsolicited advertising, solicitations, scams, phishing, or malicious links
• Fraudulently abuse giveaways, promotional codes, referrals, or other promotions
• Attempt to hack, decompile, reverse-engineer, or otherwise tamper with any part of the service
• Interfere with, disrupt, overload, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to the bot, the service, our servers, or other players
• Use the service for any illegal or unauthorized purpose, or in violation of any applicable law or third-party rights

9. Intellectual Property

All content, artwork, sprites, character avatars, maps, code, branding, and other materials associated with Isles.gg are the property of Quartz and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, create derivative works from, publicly display, or otherwise exploit our content without prior written permission. Your use of the service grants you no ownership rights in any content or intellectual property.

10. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to Isles.gg at any time, with or without cause, and with or without notice. Reasons for termination may include, but are not limited to, violation of these terms, exploiting the service, abusive behavior, or prolonged inactivity. Upon termination, your right to use the service ceases immediately, and any virtual currency, items, or progress in your account will be forfeited. We are not obligated to provide a refund for any purchases upon termination.

11. Disclaimer of Warranties

Isles.gg is provided 'as is' and 'as available' without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, timely, error-free, or secure, or that any defects will be corrected. You use the service at your own risk.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Quartz and its officers, directors, employees, and agents shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from or related to your use of the service, including but not limited to loss of virtual items, currency, or game progress, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages. Our total aggregate liability for any claims arising from or related to the service shall not exceed the amount you have paid to us in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.

13. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Quartz and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from or related to your use or misuse of the service, your violation of these terms, or your violation of any rights of a third party.

14. Dispute Resolution

If you have a dispute or concern regarding the service, you agree to first attempt to resolve it informally by contacting us through our official Isles.gg Discord server. We will make a good faith effort to resolve any dispute within a reasonable timeframe.

15. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. We will notify users of significant changes through our Discord server or website. The 'Last updated' date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Your continued use of the service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated terms. If you do not agree with any changes, you must stop using the service.

16. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect. The invalid provision shall be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it valid and enforceable.

17. Entire Agreement

These Terms of Service, together with our Privacy Policy and Refund Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Quartz regarding your use of Isles.gg, and supersede all prior agreements, understandings, or representations.
